Dr. Susan Chang joined Surgical Specialists, P.C. in
October 2008. Previously, she practiced at St. Luke’s Hospital
in Bethlehem, PA, where she held the appointment of Clinical Assistant
Professor of Surgery of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
A graduate of the
University
of Pennsylvania,
Dr. Chang received her medical degree from Temple University
School of Medicine.
She then completed a general surgery residency at the
Robert Wood Johnson
Medical School
of the University
of Medicine
and Dentistry of New Jersey.
Following her residency, Dr. Chang completed a fellowship
in Breast Oncology at the prestigious John Wayne Cancer
Institute in Santa
Monica,
California.
Throughout her medical career, Dr. Chang has
distinguished herself in many ways, particularly through her
involvement in clinical research and education.
In 2005, Dr. Chang was awarded the Teaching Excellence
Award from St. Luke’s Hospital, and while a resident, she
authored the best clinical paper in the Clinical Science
Category of the New Jersey Chapter of the American College of
Surgeons’ Residency Essay Contest.
In 2000, she also presented her research at the American
College of Surgeons’ Annual Clinical Congress meeting.
Dr. Chang is currently on staff at The Chester County Hospital
where she serves on the Infection Control Committee.
A board certified general
surgeon, Dr. Chang confines her practice exclusively to the
treatment of benign and malignant breast diseases. She has a
special interest in breast cancer screening and risk reduction
and utilizes the most current breast conservation procedures.
