Dr. Philip Pearson joined the general surgery team of Surgical Specialists, P. C. in September 2005 after completing a colon and rectal fellowship at the University of Minnesota.
After graduating from Princeton University, Dr. Pearson worked as a securities trader in New York City before recognizing his ambition of becoming a surgeon. He then returned to the University of Virginia for a medical degree and completed his general surgery residency at Thomas Jefferson University. In addition to his clinical training, Dr. Pearson completed a two year research fellowship at the A. I. duPont Hospital for Children in Delaware where his interest in colon and rectal surgery was solidified.
A recipient of the Jefferson Medical Student Resident
Teaching Award in 2003 and 2004 as well as the Resident
Research Award in 2002, Dr. Pearson also has co-authored
numerous publications and participated in several
presentations.
Dr. Pearson serves the general surgery needs of our patients at our Bryn Mawr and Paoli locations with a special interest and expertise in colon and rectal surgery.
