Dr. Steven Myrick joined Surgical Specialists, P.C. in
July, 2007 following a successful career in the U. S. Navy and
later at Chestnut Hill
Hospital.
Upon receiving his medical degree, Dr. Myrick entered the
U. S. Navy in 1981 where he served for five years as a Medical
Director and Flight Surgeon.
After his tour in the Navy, Dr. Myrick returned to
Thomas
Jefferson
University
Hospital in Philadelphia where he completed his general
surgery residency in 1991.
After completing his residency, Dr. Myrick joined the surgical
staff of the Chestnut Hill Hospital
and was a member of the clinical faculty at
Thomas
Jefferson
University
and subsequently at the
University
of Pennsylvania.
At Chestnut Hill Hospital,
Dr. Myrick held the post of General Surgery Division Chief and
President of the Medical Staff. He also distinguished himself as an educator and surgeon
holding the positions of Director of Resident Education and
Director of Surgical Student Education.
He continued that distinction since joining Surgical Specialists
when he was the recipient of Drexel University's College of
Medicine's 2009 Dean's Special Award for Excellence in Clinical
Teaching at Bryn Mawr Hospital.
Dr. Myrick is a member of Surgical Specialists' general surgery
team at its Bryn Mawr site where he specializes in general, endocrine, breast and
laparoscopic surgery.
