Dr. Steven Myrick joined Surgical Specialists, P.C. in
July, 2007 following a successful career in the U. S. Navy and
later at Chestnut Hill
Hospital.
Upon receiving his medical degree, Dr. Myrick entered the
U. S. Navy in 1981 where he served for five years as a Medical
Director and Flight Surgeon.
After his tour in the Navy, Dr. Myrick returned to
Thomas
Jefferson
University
Hospital in Philadelphia where he completed his general
surgery residency in 1991.
After completing his residency, Dr. Myrick joined the surgical
staff of the Chestnut Hill Hospital
and was a member of the clinical faculty at
Thomas
Jefferson
University
and subsequently at the
University
of Pennsylvania.
At Chestnut Hill Hospital,
Dr. Myrick distinguished himself as an educator and surgeon
holding the positions of Director of Resident Education and
Director of Surgical Student Education.
He also held the posts of Chief of the Division of
General Surgery, President of the Medical Staff, and
Vice-Chairman of the Hospital Board of Trustees, in addition to
serving on many hospital committees including quality
improvement and peer review.
Surgical Specialists, P.C. gladly welcomed Dr. Myrick to
its general surgery team at its Bryn Mawr site in July 2007
where he specializes in general, endocrine, breast and
laparoscopic surgery.
